Our Mission

At Celebration Church DC, We partner with God to build people to become who they were created to be and live out their Kingdom purpose through biblical teaching, authentic community, worship, and prayer. Just as the early church modeled in Acts 2:42, “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”

Our mission is lived out in four key focuses:

"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer" Acts 2:42

At Celebration Church, we stand firm in the ways of Christ, the values of the Kingdom of God, and the teachings of the Bible. We believe that Scripture is the inspired Word of God—written through human hands but divinely breathed—to provide a worldview through which the Church can function as an expression of God’s Kingdom on earth.

The Holy Bible

We believe the Bible—and only the Bible—is the authoritative Word of God. It is the final authority for all doctrinal truth. In its original writing, it is inspired by God, infallible, and without error.
Scripture References:
2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20–21; Proverbs 30:5; Romans 16:25–26

The Trinity

We believe in one God who exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are coequal, coeternal, and one in essence.
Scripture References:
1 John 5:7; Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:16–17, 28:19; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 9:6; Hebrews 3:7–11

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is God the Son, the second person of the Trinity. On earth, He was fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless life, performed miracles, and died on the cross to atone for our sins through the shedding of His blood. He rose from the dead on the third day, ascended to the Father, and will return again in power and glory.
Scripture References:
John 1:1, 1:14, 20:28; 1 Timothy 3:16; Isaiah 9:6; Philippians 2:5–6; 1 Timothy 2:5

The Holy Spirit

The Gifts of the Spirit:
We believe the Holy Spirit works through a variety of spiritual gifts to strengthen the Church, confirm the Gospel, and reveal the power of God. These gifts operate in harmony with Scripture and are available to all believers.
Scripture References:
Hebrews 2:4; Romans 1:11, 12:4–8; Ephesians 4:16; 1 Timothy 4:14; 2 Timothy 1:6–7; 1 Corinthians 12–14; 1 Peter 4:10

Baptism in the Holy Spirit:
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as a separate experience from salvation—given to empower believers to boldly share the Gospel and live in spiritual fullness.
Scripture References:
Joel 2:28–29; Matthew 3:11; Mark 16:17; Acts 1:5, 2:1–4, 8:14–17, 10:38, 44–47, 19:1–6

Salvation

We believe that salvation is a gift from God, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ—His death, burial, and resurrection. It is not earned by works or human effort.
Scripture References:
Ephesians 2:8–9; Galatians 2:16; Titus 3:5; Romans 10:9–10; Acts 16:31; Hebrews 9:22

Redemption

We believe that mankind was created good, but fell through voluntary sin. Our only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
Scripture References:
Genesis 1:26–31, 3:1–7; Romans 5:12–21

Heaven and Hell

Heaven:
We believe that Heaven is the eternal dwelling place for all who place their faith in Jesus Christ.
Scripture References:
Matthew 5:3, 6:20, 25:34; John 17:24; 2 Corinthians 5:1; Hebrews 11:16; 1 Peter 1:4

Hell:
We believe that those who reject Jesus will be judged by God and eternally separated from Him in Hell, along with the devil and his angels.
Scripture References:
Matthew 25:41; Mark 9:43–48; Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 14:9–11, 20:12–15, 21:8
